Moorish Idolツノダシ

Zanclus cornutusLC— Least Concern

The Moorish idol (Zanclus cornutus) is a distinctive, laterally compressed reef fish found across the Indo-Pacific and eastern Pacific, recognized by its long trailing dorsal fin and bold black-white-yellow banding. It feeds mainly on sponges, which make up about 70% of its diet, along with algae and other benthic invertebrates, and is notoriously difficult to keep in home aquariums due to its picky feeding habits. It is the sole living species in its family, Zanclidae, and is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
