BANJOU OSAKANA-KAN道の駅やよい 番匠おさかな館

A freshwater aquarium themed on the Banjo River, considered one of the clearest streams in Kyushu. Attached to the Yayoi roadside station (michi-no-eki), it recreates the upper, middle, and lower reaches of the Banjo River in outdoor tanks and exhibits fish such as the giant mottled eel and the Japanese lates (akame). It also has an exhibit of tropical freshwater fish from South America and Africa (Lake Malawi). Opened in 2001.

Hours10:00–17:00 (last entry 16:45). Closed on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (can open for group reservations) and over the New Year holidays. Source
AdmissionAdults (junior high school students and older) ¥500 (groups ¥450); children (elementary school and younger) ¥300 (groups ¥250); age 3 and under free. Annual membership: junior high school students and older ¥2,000, elementary school and younger ¥1,200. ¥50 off with a disability certificate. Source
