Enoshima Suizokukan江の島水族館

The former Enoshima Aquarium, located at Katase Kaigan in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture. Established as Enoshima Aquarium Co., Ltd. in July 1952, it began operating in July 1954 and was designated a museum-equivalent facility in December 1955. It ran several marine-related facilities, including a marine mammal zoo and Marine Land, and held marine science classes as an educational activity. The main building closed in January 2004 to make way for a new aquarium, and in April of the same year it was succeeded by Enoshima Aquarium (Shin-Enoshima Suizokukan).
