Iyoboyakaikanイヨボヤ会館

A facility introducing the history and culture of salmon in the Miomote River, which flows through Murakami. "Iyoboya" means salmon in the Murakami dialect, and depending on the season you can observe salmon from spawning to hatching. Since April 2012 (Heisei 24) it has been managed and operated by the Iyoboya no Sato Development Corporation, a public interest incorporated foundation.

Access

By car, 9 minutes from the Murakami-Senami-Onsen IC on the Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway. By public transportation, about 5 minutes by local bus from Murakami Station on the JR Uetsu Main Line; get off at the Kosukejima bus stop and walk 3 minutes (bus fare ¥150). Source
