Guangzhou Zoo, in the Yuexiu District of Guangzhou, Guangdong, opened in 1958 and spans about 42 hectares. It keeps more than 4,500 animals across over 450 species, including giant pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, and South China tigers, and is counted among China's three major urban zoos alongside the Beijing and Shanghai zoos.
