Records
A male born August 4, 2025, at Nagano's Chausuyama Zoo to mother Milk and father Mugi. He was the first red panda cub born at the zoo in four years. He weighed about 100 grams at birth, but nursing on his mother's milk, he grew to more than 2,000 grams and about 30 centimeters in length by November, and from November 9 he went on view with his mother for 30 minutes a day.
His name was decided as 'Milo' after a public naming contest that began on November 15, 2025. When Nagano City's junior ambassadors visited in March 2026, he was described as a rambunctious cub always on the move, gaining 50 to 60 grams a day; in April that year, the zoo's official X account showed him relaxing comfortably in the cool indoor 'Red Panda House' and eyeing a keeper's camera with curiosity.
