COEX Aquarium opened in 2000 inside the Starfield COEX Mall in Gangnam, Seoul, and now operates under the SEA LIFE brand as SEA LIFE COEX, Seoul Aquarium. It displays over 40,000 creatures from about 650 species across 14 themed zones and 90 tanks, with a total water capacity of roughly 3,500,000 litres and a largest tank of 2,000,000 litres. Its signature feature is an acrylic underwater tunnel where sharks and sea turtles swim overhead.
