Records
Born June 26, 2010, at Nagano's Chausuyama Zoo, he arrived at Kagoshima's Hirakawa Zoo on May 14, 2013. From late August 2025 he showed symptoms including loss of appetite and was under treatment, but the zoo's official website announced that he died of liver failure on September 17 at the age of 15 years and 2 months. The death was announced on the zoo's official website on September 19, 2025.
He left two offspring at Hirakawa Zoo. The Minaminippon Shimbun reported the death of the popular animal, in his 13th year since coming from Nagano to Kagoshima, quoting people involved as saying 'his coat was in good shape for his age' and that he 'lived out his natural life.' Shortly before his death, on June 22, 2025, his 15th birthday was celebrated at a joint birthday party with Melody, where he was given a special cake of bamboo and apples.
