Records
Born August 9, 2010, at Tokushima Zoo, she came to Yokohama Zoological Gardens Zoorasia on March 22, 2011. True to her name (meaning 'bond'), she was known for being very friendly toward her keepers. On December 16, 2019, she moved to Kanazawa Zoo for breeding, completing the move without incident after training to walk into the transport crate on her own.
From late November 2023 she showed weakening leg strength and eyesight, and she was taken off display in favor of husbandry focused on quality of life. On the morning of March 27, 2024, she was found in a coma and passed away that evening. A necropsy revealed a tumor 7 to 8 cm across on her right kidney. Her keeper regretted not having noticed the tumor, noting that wild animals instinctively act normal even when they are unwell.
