Edinburgh ZooEdinburgh Zoo (RZSS)

Edinburgh Zoo opened in 1913 on the slopes of Corstorphine Hill in Edinburgh, Scotland. Operated by the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), its roughly 82-acre (33-hectare) grounds are home to a wide range of animals. It was the first zoo in the world to keep and breed penguins, held the UK's only giant pandas from 2011 to 2023, and remains the only zoo in Britain to house koalas.
