Records

A male born September 27, 2017. In early July 2019 he came to Shizuoka's Nihondaira Zoo from Izu Shaboten Zoo, one of four capybaras that arrived together with Buna, Chanko, and Sakura. The zoo's newsletter noted that he was very wary at first, but through his keepers' engagement he came to show the relaxed, people-friendly side typical of capybaras.

The keepers' log records him being the first to start eating when watermelon was offered, perhaps a favorite (September 2025), and soaking in the winter 'Capybara Hot Spring' right up until closing time (December 2025). In February 2026 he and Buna soaked together and stood steaming in front of the door at closing time. On May 22, 2026, he and Buna were let out into the larger space from the morning.
