Records

On March 20, 2018, he came to Sunshine Aquarium from a zoo in Malaysia for breeding and went on view in the outdoor 'Otter Waterside' area. His name means 'king' in Malay, reflecting the hope that he would become a king-like figure guarding the aquarium's line of Asian small-clawed otters.

He was 2 years old when he arrived. Described as timid and cautious, he is nevertheless highly athletic. He was paired around the same time with the female Mahalo (born August 7, 2014, at Sunshine Aquarium), starting their 'newlywed life' together, and the pair went on display with an eye toward breeding.

On May 27, 2024, three male pups (Koko, Nattsu, and Miruku) were born to him and Mahalo. During the birth, he was observed holding the pups and carrying straw for nesting material in from outside for Mahalo to arrange in the nest, showing paternal care behavior.
