Records
A male finless porpoise born at 1:01 a.m. on June 1, 2022, at Toba Aquarium. His mother is Chobo, and at birth he measured about 85 cm and weighed about 8 kg (estimated by eye). Because June 1 is 'Photography Day' in Japan, and as a wish for peace, he was named 'Peace' in November that year and initially shown in the 'Ise-Shima Sea Corner.' He turned 4 on June 1, 2026, and is still a growing youngster; he currently lives with his father Go in a backup tank in the backyard, so visitors cannot see him. Toba Aquarium has kept finless porpoises since 1963 and has put effort into breeding them.
His mother Chobo is also one of the aquarium's finless porpoises. In 2022 another calf (a female, to mother Ichigo) was born at almost the same time, but that calf died in October the same year.
