Records
A male Commerson's dolphin born at 6:42 a.m. on June 21, 2023, at Toba Aquarium. His mother is Stella (22 at the time) and his father Kai (26 at the time); at birth he measured about 70 cm and weighed about 6 kg. His name was decided as 'Cosmo' on November 8 that year. He turned 3 on June 21, 2026, and is growing well, though still small compared with the others. On April 23, 2026, he moved with his mother Stella from the backup pool to the exhibit pool, where he lives with Stella and Lala as a group of three. Commerson's dolphins communicate by rubbing together the small serrated bumps on the leading edge of their pectoral fins.
His father Kai moved from the exhibit pool to the backup pool on April 23, 2026, and Cosmo and his mother Stella moved into the exhibit pool in his place. Since then he has lived with his mother Stella and older sister Lala as a group of three.
