Records
Born May 31, 2009, at Otaru Aquarium to Uchio (father) and Urya (mother).
She was transported to Toba Aquarium for breeding on April 2, 2016, arriving after a roughly 30-hour journey by truck and ferry. In April 2026 she marked 10 years at the aquarium.
She has a habit of waiting in front of the door first thing in the morning, and after meals she is observed spreading her nose and whiskers to check for leftovers.
She celebrated her 17th birthday on May 31, 2026.
In January 2026 she began sharing a tank with 'Ichiko,' who moved in from Umitamago, and the two can now be seen swimming together. At Toba Aquarium she is introduced as the senior walrus.
Known for her calm, unflappable temperament, she went through her training as usual even when moved during tank renovations, and her keepers report that she played just as she always does when given her favorite chikuwa fish cakes.
