Records
Born December 10, 2021, at Asahiyama Zoo to father Hokuto and mother Pirika. The Hokkaido Shimbun reported the birth as Asahiyama Zoo's first successful breeding in 40 years and introduced her as the cub of 'Pirika, who married in from Maruyama.' Her two littermates died after birth.
She left Asahiyama Zoo on December 1, 2023, and arrived at Kobe's Oji Zoo on December 3. Oji Zoo's official website introduced her as '1 year and 11 months old' on arrival and lists her birthplace as Asahikawa's Asahiyama Zoo.
The move to Oji Zoo was made under a breeding loan agreement, and both Asahiyama Zoo and Oji Zoo announced the process. On the day of the move, the long-distance transport was carried out after repeated training to get her used to the transport cage, and after a quarantine period following her arrival she went on public view.
