Adelie penguinアデリーペンギン

Pygoscelis adeliaeLC— Least Concern

The Adélie penguin is a mid-sized penguin that breeds along the entire Antarctic coastline and on nearby sub-Antarctic islands. It feeds mainly on krill and small fish, and builds nests from carefully guarded piles of pebbles during the breeding season. Although the IUCN lists it as Least Concern with a population above 10 million, some regional populations, especially on the Antarctic Peninsula, have declined sharply due to shrinking sea ice.
