Three of the four siblings born in 2009 to mother Tsubaki (born August 1, 2005, at Kaiyukan). Records as of September 6, 2025, list them as 16 years old, with a birthday of August 29. Tsubaki was known as a 'tough mama' with strong maternal instincts, carrying several pups at once, and supported Kaiyukan's breeding for many years.
Kaiyukan's Asian small-clawed otter exhibit is in the 'Japan Forest' area, where several generations live and are displayed together. The record from September 6, 2025, marked the birthdays of Shuro, Nira, and Zakuro together with those of Miu (7) and Buna, Myoga, and Shii (2).
