Records

A male beluga brought to the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium from Russia in April 2001. From 2007 onward he sired four calves with females at the aquarium, of which Nana (female) and Mirai (male) survived to grow up. He died of multiple organ failure on May 5, 2022, at an estimated 44 years old, the oldest beluga in captivity in Japan.
