Born July 25, 2007, at the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium, she is the oldest aquarium-born beluga in Japan. She descends from the belugas the aquarium received from Russia in 2001; her father was Hodoi, who died in 2022 at an estimated 44, and her mother is Grey. On June 29, 2024, she gave birth to her first calf (a male, 159.5 cm and 57.8 kg, sired by Niko), but it was stillborn. In December 2025 a second pregnancy was announced, raising hopes that, if successful, it would be Japan's first second-generation birth from an aquarium-born beluga. As of June 2026 she was in the late stage of pregnancy, with health management continuing toward a birth expected around July or August. An event marking her 18th birthday was held in July 2025.

Her first labor on June 29, 2024, began around 3:55 a.m., and the calf's death was confirmed at 8:31 a.m. Nana showed the loss of appetite typically seen right after giving birth, but recovered quickly afterward.
