Take the tram bound for Kengun and get off at the Doshokubutsuen-Iriguchi stop, then walk 10 minutes. By bus, from stop 25 at the Sakuramachi Bus Terminal, take the bus bound for Kiyama for about 35 minutes to the Doshokubutsuen-mae stop, then walk 2 minutes (for the west gate, take buses bound for Aeon Kumamoto, Jonan, or Kosa). By car, about 6 km (about 20 minutes) from the Mashiki-Kumamoto Airport Interchange. Parking is free on weekdays and ¥200 on weekends and holidays. Source
