Satsukiyama DAYZOOTemporarily closed五月山動物園

Satsukiyama Dobutsuen is located on Mt. Satsukiyama in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture. It keeps a variety of animals including wombats, emus, wallabies, and goats, and is run by the designated manager "Satsukiyama Park Management Joint Venture." Shifting from a conventional exhibit-style facility to "a zoo that rethinks the relationship between animals and people and shares everyday life with them," it has been closed since May 22, 2026, for renovation into "Satsukiyama DAYZOO." The renovation is planned to open in three phases over about two years; the first and second phases will be limited-time openings, and the date of the full opening is undecided.
