On March 28, 2015, she was donated to Tennoji Zoo by '551 Horai,' known for its pork buns, and put on display. Reports from February 2023 gave her age as 9. At Tennoji Zoo she gave birth to Hochan, sired by Gogo, in November 2020 and raised the cub as a mother.
On December 26, 2022, she left for Yokohama Zoological Gardens Zoorasia under the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums' polar bear breeding plan. Tennoji Zoo's official notice announced her last viewing day before departure as 'December 25 until 4:00 p.m.' At Zoorasia she was reunited with Gogo, who had moved there earlier.
On November 18, 2024, cameras confirmed that she had given birth at Zoorasia to a male cub (later named 'Rai') sired by Gogo. Tennoji Zoo's official blog also reported the news, 'Itchan the polar bear has become a mother at Yokohama Zoological Gardens!', celebrating the Tennoji-raised mother bear's second successful breeding, this time in Yokohama.
