Records

A male from Iceland. Breeding with Stella was confirmed at Kamogawa Sea World in 1997, and their first calf Rabi was born in January 1998, the first successful captive breeding of orcas in Japan. He and Stella went on to have Lala, Ran, and Rin.

From early April 2014 he showed fever and abnormal breathing, and with pneumonia suspected he was taken off public display and treated in the medical pool, but around 4:30 a.m. on August 2 his condition suddenly worsened. About 30 minutes after vomiting heavily, his death was confirmed at 4:57 a.m. at the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium. He was an estimated 32 years old and the only adult male orca kept in Japan.
