Born February 25, 2006, at Kamogawa Sea World as the fourth calf of mother Stella and father Bingo. She grew up at Kamogawa with her sisters Rabi and Lala.

In 2024 she was transferred from Kamogawa Sea World for the opening of Kobe Suma Sea World, where she was reunited with her mother Stella, who had moved there earlier via the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium, after more than eight years apart.

She measures 5.2 m and weighs 2,000 kg (as of 2026). Together with her mother Stella, she performs dynamic jumps and in-water routines in sync with her trainers.

Kobe Suma Sea World reopened on June 1, 2024, as a complete renewal of its predecessor, Suma Aqualife Park, and Ran and Stella are the stars of what is the only orca exhibit in western Japan.

In the Kobe Suma Sea World show, visitors are told 'Ran on the left, Stella on the right,' and she has grown to nearly match her mother Stella in both length and weight.
