Records

Born January 11, 1998, at Kamogawa Sea World as the first calf of mother Stella and father Bingo. She was the first orca successfully bred in captivity at a Japanese aquarium, earning a breeding award. Immediately after birth she could not swim on her own and took a long time to nurse, and her care proceeded by trial and error with no precedent to follow.

She is also the first aquarium-born orca in Japan to reach the age of 20. The eldest of three sisters (Rabi, Lala, and Ran) and mother of two (Earth and Luna). She can be identified by a small black marking at the base of her right pectoral fin and by a faded patch that appears only on the right side of the white markings on either side of her head.

She mated with the male Oscar in April 2007, and pregnancy was confirmed by hormone testing. She gave birth to Earth (male) on October 13, 2008, and to her second calf, Luna (female), on July 19, 2012. She was 28 as of the end of January 2026.
