Records

Born February 8, 2001, at Kamogawa Sea World as the second calf of mother Stella and father Bingo. Her sister Rabi, three years older, leads the group, but Lala, with her larger build, has jumps that captivate visitors more than any other.

She can be identified by the small freckle-like spots on her lower jaw. She is said to be moody and occasionally gives her trainers a hard time. She was 24 as of March 2, 2025.

Measured at age 19, she was 5.3 m long and weighed 2,200 kg. Between performances she plays by chasing visitors along the glass, showing that she remains curious even as an adult orca.

She is the second of the three sisters (Rabi, Lala, and Ran) born to father Bingo and mother Stella. All orcas kept in Japan are descendants of Stella, and Lala is one of that lineage.
