NUMAZU DEEP SEA AQUARIUM沼津港深海水族館 シーラカンス・ミュージアム

The world's only aquarium specializing in deep-sea life. Taking advantage of its location on Suruga Bay, "Japan's deepest at 2,500 m," it exhibits more than 100 kinds of deep-sea creatures at all times. Signature exhibits include two frozen coelacanths (of only five officially approved for public display worldwide), frilled sharks, megamouth sharks, and the barreleye with its transparent head. Its concept is to "solve Earth's greatest mystery by shining a light on the deep sea."
