Records
Born September 18, 2011, at Adventure World in Wakayama Prefecture. In 2018 he came to Toba Aquarium from Shirahama. A keeper's diary entry from March 27 that year introduced him as a new arrival, still behind the scenes and sizing up his keepers as they sized him up. He was 6 years old at the time.
He was paired with the female Kibo, who arrived from Kagoshima's Hirakawa Zoo around the same time, but Kibo died on August 4, 2020, following a stillbirth when she was close to giving birth.
He was then paired with a new female, Kiwa, who arrived from Tokiwa Zoo in Yamaguchi Prefecture on July 6, 2021, and the pair bred successfully several times, starting with Hana on January 12, 2022, followed by three brothers on June 28, 2022, and Ren and Tsukushi in May 2023.
