Records
Born December 3, 2004, at Perm Zoo in Russia. On March 15, 2006, he came to Tennoji Zoo as a donation from '551 Horai,' known for its pork buns, and was named 'Gogo' after the store's '551.' A star attraction at Tennoji, he was celebrated with a 7th-birthday event in 2011.
He was loaned to Adventure World in March 2015 for breeding, but no pregnancy resulted, and he returned to Tennoji Zoo on his birthday, December 3, 2018. In November 2020 he became a father when Hochan was born to him and Itchan. On March 8, 2021, under the species management plan, he moved to Yokohama Zoological Gardens Zoorasia to be paired with Tsuyoshi as a breeding partner.
At Zoorasia, a cub (later named Rai) was born to him and Itchan in November 2024, his third offspring. On February 8, 2026, during anesthesia and examinations in preparation for a transfer to Tokushima Zoo, he went into respiratory and cardiac arrest, and despite resuscitation efforts his death was confirmed. He was 21. The necropsy and pathology findings indicated that the main cause of cardiac arrest was a pulmonary shunt and hypoxemia resulting from lung collapse under his own body weight during anesthesia.
