Records
Born October 28, 2016, at Tokiwa Zoo in Ube, Yamaguchi Prefecture. She came to Toba Aquarium on July 6, 2021, for breeding. At first she was 'rather timid,' with some days when she barely ate, but she gradually settled in and opened up to her keepers.
When introduced to the male Asahi through a fence, neither showed any agitation, and they were soon housed together. They quickly began cuddling up to each other and became a well-matched pair.
With Asahi, she gave birth to Hana on January 12, 2022; the three brothers Soboro, Okaka, and Konbu on June 28 that year; and Ren and Tsukushi on May 23 and 24, 2023. Three more pups were born on September 7, 2023, but they died on November 15 that year.
A keeper's log from November 2025 describes her lively behavior, such as climbing on top of Tsukushi and sinking her teeth into rubber boots.
