Habitat

太平洋沿岸の岩礁・砂浜・埠頭・ブイなどを上陸場所(ハウルアウト)として利用し、沖合の海域で採食する。

  • DDTやPCBなどの汚染物質の蓄積
  • 海水温上昇による餌資源(アンチョビ・イワシ類)の減少と幼獣の大量死(2015年など)
