Moriokashi Doubutsu Kouen盛岡市動物公園

A municipal zoo in Morioka that runs programs for wildlife and natural environment conservation and for human and animal welfare under the philosophy of "one world – one health." It also accepts veterinary and animal-care trainees.

About 25 minutes by Iwate Kenkotsu bus from bus stop 5 at the east exit of JR Morioka Station (extra buses on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays; on weekdays, buses run only on Mondays and Fridays). By car, about 20 minutes from Morioka Station; parking is ¥300 for standard cars and ¥1,000 for large vehicles (472 spaces for standard cars). Source
