Fukuyama Shiritsu Doubutsuen福山市立動物園

A zoo located 15 km northwest of JR Fukuyama Station in eastern Hiroshima Prefecture. Under the motto "see, learn, protect, and study," it is run as a place for family recreation and social education with an emphasis on animal interaction. As of the end of May 2026, it keeps 480 animals.

Access

There is no public transportation; access is by car. From Fukuyama Station, take Prefectural Route 378, turn left at the Moriwakibashi-Minamizume intersection, about 15 minutes (about 13.5 km). Several routes are also available from the Sanyo Expressway. Free parking for 700 cars (open 8:30–18:00). Source

AdmissionAdults (15 and over) ¥520; junior high students and younger free. Groups: ¥410 for 30 or more, ¥360 for 100 or more. Various discounts and exemptions are available, e.g., for holders of a physical disability certificate and city residents age 65 and over.
