Hiroshima City Asa Zoological Park広島市安佐動物公園

A municipal zoo in Asakita Ward, Hiroshima. It emphasizes showing animals as they are in the wild rather than as cute, and focuses on breeding large animals such as black rhinos, lions, and cheetahs. Interactive exhibits are a hallmark, such as a tug-of-war with baboons and "Leo Glass," where you can watch lions up close through glass. The petting area "Peachiku Park" marked its 25th anniversary in 2026.

Access
From JR Hiroshima Station, take the Sanyo Main Line or Kabe Line to Shin-Hakushima Station, transfer to the Astram Line to Kamiyasu Station, then take a bus to "Asa Dobutsu Koen" (about 45 minutes in total).
