Spanning 287 hectares, it holds more than 5,000 animals of over 300 species, organised into seven zoogeographic regions such as Indo-Malaya, Africa, and the Americas. It features the Gorilla Rainforest, billed as the world's largest indoor habitat for western lowland gorillas, and in 2015 recorded the first giant panda cubs born in Canada.
