Zoo de la Palmyre is a privately owned zoo set in an 18-hectare pine forest near the Atlantic coast at Les Mathes (La Palmyre) in Charente-Maritime, southwestern France, opened in 1966 by Claude Caillé. It is home to more than 1,600 animals of about 110 species, and is known for features such as an underwater-viewing polar bear enclosure and islands for great apes. It ranks among France's most visited private zoos.
