Nausicaá, in Boulogne-sur-Mer in northern France, is a national sea centre and aquarium that opened on 18 May 1991 and is one of the largest public aquariums in Europe. It holds around 17 million litres of water across 85 tanks, displaying roughly 58,000 marine animals of 1,600 species. Its High Seas gallery, added in 2018, features a 10-million-litre tank for pelagic fish, and the centre draws more than 800,000 visitors a year.
