Denver ZooDenver Zoo

Denver Zoo, founded in 1896 in Denver's City Park, Colorado, keeps roughly 2,500 animals on an 80-acre site and is the city's most-visited paid attraction, drawing around 1.8 million people a year. Its Bear Mountain habitat, which opened in 1918, was the first in the United States to use naturalistic landscaping instead of barred cages. Later additions include the large-scale Toyota Elephant Passage, opened in 2012.
