Cologne ZooKölner Zoo

Cologne Zoo (Kölner Zoo), in Cologne in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia, opened in 1860 and is the third-oldest zoo in the country. Across more than 20 hectares it keeps over 10,000 animals of more than 850 species, and is known for its historic 1863 Moorish-style building and the Hippodom hippo-and-crocodile hall. It was among the first European zoos to adopt immersion-style enclosures.
